Day 1: Kampala – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Pick up from Kampala and depart southwest to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Brief stopover at the equator for an information brief and photos. Drive on to Mbarara and stopover for lunch. Drive through the spectacular rolling green hills also known as the ‘Switzerland of Uganda’. Views of the Virunga volcanoes of Rwanda and Congo as you drive on into the forest. Dinner and overnight at lodge.
Day 2: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Early morning breakfast then transfer to the park’s headquarters with your packed lunch. Trek orientation by the ranger guides and head into the forest for the trek. The trek needs some physical fitness and can take from two to eight hours depending with how far the gorillas are inside the forest. The forest is home to other primates, birds, mammals and butterflies. Upon spotting them, you are allowed an hour with the gentle giants to view, observe and take memorable photos of them from a few meters away. After lunch, return to the headquarters and depending on time and your energy level go for an optional village walk to see how Ugandans live. Return to lodge for dinner and overstay.
Day 3: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Kampala
Our 3 day Mountain Gorilla trekking safari comes to an end and after breakfast we depart Bwindi Impenetrable forest and return to Kampala. Stopover at Mbarara town for lunch then proceed to Kampala arriving in the afternoon. Drop off at your hotel in Kampala.
